ith an incredible amount of endurance, this horse can give you hours of fun and pleasure on the trail. Since only about 20% of Paso Fino owners show their horses, we can assume the other 80% have found the Paso to be the an excellent horse for the trail. Our National Association sponsors a "Pasos for Pleasure" program, where riders can earn awards by recording the number of trail hours they accumulate. We are one of the few organizations that recognize the importance of the trail rider in promoting the Paso Fino breed.

In addition to the National program the NEPFHA also promotes a program that recognizes the contribution trail riders make to the association. The program is free to all members and awards are issued each year based on the number of trail hours logged. Our program runs from Oct.1 to Sept.30, usually the first Saturday of the month. My small riding group will be planning a ride at Grace Note Horse Inn in R.I. I wanted to extend an invitation to the Paso people to come and join us. If you have never been to Grace Note, it is a ride you do not want to miss. The cost will be $15.00 to cover the spectacular lunch that Virginia will service us. All foods and desserts are made by her own hands. The trails are wonderfully New England, with covered bridge and bubbling brooks. It would also be a chance to meet the host and hostess of the horse camp grounds at Myles Standish and perhaps we can convince them to give a talk to those who may be interested in camping or just want to enjoy the hidden trails (that very few know about) at Myles Standish. We are planning this for after the holidays (weather permitting) and I will notify anyone with the date that is interested. Please spread the word. It would be a wonderful chance for us all to get together and discuss what we would like to see in the Trail riding end of our organization, as well as an educational opportunity.
